On July 10th, I celebrated my 17th birthday!
In this blog post, I will post what I got for my birthday, as well as post a delicious recipe.
What I got for my birthday:
- A tripod for my camera! So happy with this
- A blender; our blender broke like 2 years ago or something, and I wanted one again so badly for smoothies and stuff. So definitely look out for some smoothie recipes in the future (:
- A smoothie package; consisting of an adorable box filled with all kinds of fruit such as bananas, a pineapple, strawberries and apples.
- A tangle teezer; If you don't know what it is, it's practically a brush which you hold in your hand, and it brushes through really easily.
From my friends, I got some beauty products like scrubs and masks but also (of course) food (Ben & Jerry's ^^).
And now on to the amazing delicious easy chocolate strawberry cake;
Easy Chocolate Cake
with white chocolate and strawberries
Ingredients:
- 200 grams of butter
- 150 grams of self-raising flour
- 200 grams of dark brown castor sugar
- 200 grams of dark chocolate
- 100 grams of milk chocolate
- 1/2 tbsp of salt
- 4 eggs
- 200 grams of white chocolate
- Strawberries (about 1 cup)
- 125 ml of whipping cream (not whipped!)
Directions:
1. Preheat your oven to 175 °C (347 °F).
2. Cut your butter into little pieces and put them in a saucepan. Also cut the 200 grams of dark chocolate and the 100 grams of milk chocolate in little pieces and put those with the butter in the saucepan. Melt the two on low heat. Stir it well, don't let it burn!
3. Let the mixture from step 2 cool down. Crack the eggs in a large bowl and whisk them with a whisker. Mix in the dark brown castor sugar and the salt. Now grab your chocolate butter mixture from step 2 and mix it all together. Now add the self-raising flour and mix it lightly with a spoon through the mixture.
4. Cover the cake tin with parchment paper. Put the mixture in and smoothen the surface. Bake the cake for about 30 minutes. When it's done, let it cool down for about an hour.
5. Put the white chocolate, about 100 grams, together with the whipping cream in a saucepan. Melt this at low heat. Mix it together and keep adding the rest of the white chocolate. Keep stirring!!
Let it cool down for a bit and then pour it on top of the cake. Cover the top and the sides with the mixture.
6. Cut the strawberries in half, and garnish the cake with the strawberries.
7. Put the cake in the fridge for about an hour so that the topping can harden.
And here's your finished product:
Bon appetit!
